Latest Updates from Our Project:

Finish Line
about 3 years ago – Thu, Mar 18, 2021 at 05:37:57 PM

It's finally here. Pre-orders have already started rolling out, because we have finished shipping all of the backer rewards. All of you have been so incredibly patient, and I cannot understate how much I appreciate your support, your gentle nudges, and your understanding.

There are a couple packages that came back to me due to incorrect or incomplete address, and I'm getting new ones sent out this week, but otherwise everything has gone out with the exception of pre-orders.

If you pre-ordered, I cannot find or message you here in Kickstarter, so I'll be sending emails with tracking info as they go out. Some of you have already received these emails, so check out your inbox! If you haven't yet, don't worry, you will very soon. I'm hoping to have all pre-orders (domestic and international) shipped out by the end of tomorrow.

Woooo!

As a fun side note, the decks are now available in some shops. A few of you backed the project at the retail tier, and I am working on distributing to other retail shops, so you may see the deck on the shelf of your favorite Tarot purveyor this year!

Thank you, all of you, from the bottom of my heart. Many of you have reached out to let me know you're excited for my next project. I am proud to announce that there will indeed be a next project. I have recently started on the early stages of it, but at this point I can't say much... Best to "keep silence", at least for now. Expect an update about this new project soon!

Take care, and enjoy your Spring!

Another Shipping Update!
about 3 years ago – Sat, Feb 27, 2021 at 04:19:22 AM

Hi Everyone,

Last Friday, I finished shipping out everything for domestic rewards (this does not include Pre-orders, only Kickstarter campaign backers), so you should have received a tracking number from me / your package should have arrived or is currently en route. If you are in the US, and you have not heard from me regarding a tracking number, and you have not yet received your rewards, please reach out to me privately on Kickstarter. As far as I can tell, everything domestic has been shipped.

This week I have been sending out international backers' rewards. Again, this does not yet include pre-orders, but rest assured those are going out in the next week or so as well. Currently I'm waiting on more Customs form envelopes from the post office, but those should arrive early next week and shipping will continue on that front.

I don't want to go into too many details at this time, but there have been some life hiccups this week. Everything should be fine, some things just take time.

Anyway, that's all for now.

Thank you,

Taylor

Very Brief Shipping Update & Some pictures!
about 3 years ago – Tue, Feb 16, 2021 at 09:52:40 PM

Hey folks,

SHIPPING UPDATE! This "First wave" of remaining shipments will be completed and shipped out by Friday! (Probably actually sooner, but Friday for sure). To clarify, first wave is US / Domestic rewards. That means wave 2 starts immediately afterward: Shipping all the remaining International rewards. I suspect that this will take about 3 days to finish, and then wave 3 will begin! Wave 3 is when the Pre-orders start rolling out. I suspect this will also only take a few days.

I kept promising some photos, and I kept forgetting to actually upload them. So here are the production line for the Blackout decks (all the boxes). This is filling up a good chunk of my mom's basement, a space which she has generously allowed me to use for this project. Thanks mom!

The Major Arcana all fit on this folding table! (Ran out of boxes, so a couple are in Christmas bags)
The minor arcana starts here (mostly)
And the minors end here! It's a bit dark in the basement...

And for those of you who stick around to the bottom of the post, here's a couple drawings I've been working on lately. Be nice! I'm still learning...

Entering the Wild
All Things Which Happen In This World Happen Again
Tree Box (I'm not great with names, okay!)

These are all reaching through the darkness toward a style I want to develop. I have several influences, but clearly nature, the cosmos, and geometry are among the most influential ones. All of these are done on Affinity Photo, using a Wacom drawing tablet.

Shipping Update - February (Nearing the end Q&A)
about 3 years ago – Fri, Feb 12, 2021 at 10:39:46 PM

Howdy folks,

Happy Imbolc and Lupercalia, this is a shipping update to answer some common questions that I have been receiving:

Q. Is shipping completed?

A. Not yet, but we are getting very close. I'd like to reiterate that I am assembling and packing all these decks by hand every day (card by card), and shipping them all through my local post office - I am only able to do about 15 - 20 per day (used to be 12, but we have improved our methods of efficiency!).

Q. When can I expect to receive my deck(s)?

A. Very soon! I am shipping and packing every day, and we crossed the halfway mark a couple weeks ago. Based on my calculations (and due entirely to help I am receiving from a couple close friends and my family) I expect to have everything shipped out by the end of this month (Feb). That's the hope. Will it for sure happen? I don't know, and I don't want to make promises because this whole project has been so complicated at every step. But rest assured, I am working on this for about 6 - 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and I am steadily pressing through the long list of names and addresses.

As further clarification for the order in which I am shipping things:

The First Wave, which is quite large (over 200 packages, which we are more than halfway done with) is specifically United States domestic addresses (or Hawaii / Alaska), and includes all reward tiers (posters, Spectrum decks, Blackout decks, single cards, and retail tiers).

The Second Wave includes all non-US addresses, which require a different process to ship and require Customs documents, so these will all be done consecutively, and thus, after the US-only packages are shipped. Looking at probably starting second wave in about a week and a half, but I will update when I begin shipping International packages. There's less of these, so this should happen quicker overall.

The Third Wave includes all Pre-orders (Domestic and International), as they come in, starting with the ones that have already been purchased, that means if you Pre-ordered the deck through Backerkit after the Kickstarter campaign ended in May 2019 (There are about 50 of you), then your packages will be sent out after all Kickstarter pledge rewards are fulfilled. I have mentioned this before, but wanted to clarify again because I continue to get questions about this: I have a duty to fulfill the rewards of my Kickstarter supporters first and foremost, and this is what I have been doing so far. Once these are all taken care of, Pre-orders will start shipping. At the risk of sounding redundant: Pre-orders are any order that has been placed Outside of, and After the end of the 1-month Kickstarter campaign which ran from April to May in 2019. There are also significantly less Pre-orders than Pledges, so those will go very quick (I'll be able to get them all out in about 3 days once that starts, but again, that's happening after the First and Second waves are done).

Q. Has my deck been shipped?

A. When your deck is shipped, I will send you a tracking number. Please be patient with the tracking numbers: I'm not always able to send them off right as I'm packing decks, and often need to send them in between my day job and going to my mom's to work on the decks, so the tracking number might get to you a day late, but usually the local post office hasn't even processed the packages yet.

Q. I got a deck, but it has two of one card, and is missing another?

A. This is my bad, we did our best to sort the cards, but I did find this week three piles of cards which were in the wrong boxes (Small piles, maybe 20 cards), and I got one message about someone having received two 10 of Wands, and no 10 of cups. If this happens to you, please don't hesitate to reach out on Kickstarter (please send me a private message here so I can reply to you and we can discuss address if needed, and just so I can keep myself organized. Thank you!) and I will mail you a replacement card ASAP. I did fix the existing decks which were on the shelf, but obviously wasn't able to catch every deck that went out before we noticed this.

Q. I just moved, where can I update my address?

A. Feel free to send me a Private Message here on Kickstarter (please do not leave your address as a comment, otherwise it will be public).

As a final note, I wanted to mention that decks are still being built as I am shipping them out. I have about 300 Spectrum decks left to build overall (which means we have built about 450 so far), and I don't have a specific number for Blackout decks, but it's somewhere around 550 left. I am able to build about 25 per day, and ship up to that many decks. On Wednesdays I have been getting tremendous help from my friend and coworker, and we have been able to pack and ship upwards of 30 decks on those days.

I think that's all I've got.

TL;DR: Shipping is still going, I'm sending things out every day, I'm building decks every day, and we are nearing the end. US domestic shipments are going out first, and when those are done International shipping will begin. Once all Kickstarter rewards are fulfilled, Pre-orders will be shipped (and this will be relatively quick). Overall I think we're looking at 3 weeks. And I couldn't do this without the amazing help from my family, and the friends who have taken time out of their busy schedules to aid in this massive endeavor. When your package goes out you will get a tracking number in your messages here on Kickstarter. If you have not received a tracking number, it is most likely that your package has not gone out, but it will within the next couple weeks.

Okay, thank you all so much for your tremendous and unexpected patience, as well as the amazing kind words that some of you have sent in messages here. It seriously warms my heart to hear how much love you all have for this project, and I sincerely hope the decks help every single one of you enjoy and learn Tarot in a different way. As always, please feel free to reach out with questions. If it's something related to your own shipment or order, please send me a private message on Kickstarter (as opposed to a comment), or if it's easier for you, please feel free to email me at [email protected].

Ta ta for now,

Taylor

January Shipping Update
over 3 years ago – Sun, Jan 17, 2021 at 01:11:14 PM

Happy 2021, everyone!

This is a brief update regarding the status of shipping: Everything is ready for shipping at this point, and I have already sent out several decks. If yours has been sent out, then I have sent you a tracking number. If you haven't received a number, that means yours has not been sent out yet, but will be soon. I'm hoping I can get it all done by the end of January, but it may be February.

This is a last call for anyone who needs to change their shipping address, please private message me here on Kickstarter with your new address, and I will update the spreadsheet so I can get it to the right place.

I'm putting more packages together tonight, which will be sent out on Monday / Tuesday (Monday is a holiday), and I will have some very exciting news very soon - but I am going to wait until I have concrete details, and I have finished shipping before sharing this exciting news with everyone.

Okay, I think that's it!

Take care, and please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. I'm here to make things happen, and I cannot overstate how appreciative I am of your patience and support through this project.

P.S. Here is a photo of the set up for building blackout decks. The white cardstock on top of the boxes are being used to protect the cards from dust and such. As you can see, this is my mom's basement. Behind me as I took the picture is a table set up with all the boxes for the Majors. These are all the minors. I'll try to get better pictures tonight, but I took this one a couple weeks ago and apparently it's the only one I took...
