IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS
almost 4 years ago – Fri, Jul 17, 2020 at 10:12:40 AM

Greetings and salutations!

I learned from my XPS Ship rep today that there have been issues with packages getting lost, damaged, or confused in other ways.

I have not heard back from any of you having received yours yet, so please let me know when you do. I am sending out a couple more to other countries today to see if it's these specific countries that are having issues. I will send you information for tracking ASAP.

Donations?
almost 4 years ago – Fri, Jul 17, 2020 at 10:12:06 AM

Hello once again! Wow it feels like the fourth time in three days...

Many of you have asked me to hold your decks until they are all ready to go, and I shall do that! Some of you have asked for the Spectrum deck to be sent separately, and I shall do this too! A few of you have even asked about my Paypal account to be able to donate to me. Thank you so much, you guys are seriously so kind and incredible. I could not have asked for cooler backers.

If anybody is interested in sending a donation, my Paypal email is “[email protected]

Thanks again, and have a great weekend everybody! Next week the real fun begins...

Proof Approved.

That title was more for my amusement. I used to work at a sign shop and we'd receive emails with that as the subject all day every day.

I went in to Embossing Plus today to sign off on these printed proofs for the Blackout deck:

As you can tell, these are transparent films with black ink printed to them. These are the burn keys for the fronts of Forms 1 and 2 and the backs of all of them. I spoke with the E+ team regarding the process, and we have agreed that once they go to print I will be there to watch the process, provide feedback, and ensure that they are done right.

This apparently never happens. Ever... According to my Paper Company reps. This has cost Embossing Plus quite a sum, which Midland Paper has helped to cover, at no expense to me or you. The thing is, none of that cost would have been incurred by anyone if the two forms had been lined up together, and not printed over a month apart from each other.

Printing will (and yes I mean WILL) start early next week. The actual printing part will only take 1 day. Then they need to be die cut, processed, and packaged. I do not know how long that part will take, they didn't tell me.

Hallelujah, we're finally getting there.

Follow up to partial shipping update (And a nice P.S.)
almost 4 years ago – Fri, Jul 17, 2020 at 10:06:43 AM

Hi folks,

Several people have left comments, messaged me, and even emailed me about wanting to wait until both decks are ready. I didn't realize so many people would want to wait - both to save shipping costs and due to the complications of COVID-19.

So here's what I've come up with: If you are okay getting your decks separately, please SEND ME A MESSAGE here on Kickstarter (Caps is just so that's easier to see) that way I have them all in one place, and I will work it out with each of you individually.

If I do not receive a message about it, I will assume that you are okay waiting.

Thank you so much for helping me through this fun learning process, here's to a hopeful end in sight.

P.S. Got word yesterday that I will be able to go in to see the final proofs either today, Friday, or early next week (Waiting on a final meeting time) which means printing WILL BE A GO very very soon. Once I sign off on the proofs, it goes to press. I will post another update at that time, hopefully with a photo of the proofs.

I'm just going to start shipping partials.
almost 4 years ago – Tue, Jul 14, 2020 at 08:31:33 PM

Hey everyone,

A backer reached out and asked if it would be possible to somehow pay extra shipping in order to get the Spectrum decks sent out in the meantime while we're all sitting around waiting to hear back from the printer.

The thing is, you shouldn't have to. You already paid shipping, it just becomes complicated when I have to send people multiple packages because I pay shipping on all of it, but that's not really the point. The point is that you pledged for the decks, and it's been a long while. Obviously it's been longer than I had hoped, and if things had been smoother I think we honestly could have been done in February with all of this.

Doesn't matter any more, because here we are, over a year from the project's funding, and many of you still don't have decks. I have shipped out about 1/3 of the total packages already, but that means hundreds of you have still been waiting (very patiently I might add).

So here's what I'm going to do, and if you don't want this please message me and I'll wait to ship your package until the Blackout decks are ready: I'm just going to start shipping partials. It should cost me less than $1,000 and I think I'll be able to cover it out of pocket.

HOWEVER, due to how dramatically more expensive it is, I cannot ship partials overseas. That under $1,000 would very quickly balloon to thousands, and I just don't have that, and I just don't think it's fair to ask any of you to pay for additional shipping at this point.

Maybe I'm crazy.

Yeah, I'm probably crazy.

But I want to get this done as much as you all want to hold these decks in your hands.

Shipping for these partials will begin next week because this week I'm still focused on International Spectrum only orders. Pre-orderers, I know you have been, but please continue to be patient.

Soon, my dearies. Soon.
